•$207,000 - $300,000

About The Position

As a Staff Software Engineer at Google DeepMind, you will work with AI agents developed by machine learning and neuroscience research scientists, building systems and tools to evaluate their intelligence. The work described includes systems for agent testing with 2D and 3D games, test problems in physics simulators, graphical visualization of results, competitive agent leaderboards, and testing algorithms on robots. The role calls for a strong software engineering foundation and an interest in tackling a wide range of challenging problems within a mission-driven team. The posting also describes leading the technical roadmap for Gemini Web, including a progressive migration from Angular to React, TypeScript, and Node.js. You will improve frontend development ergonomics, observability, and performance, and build reusable infrastructure for key Gemini Web surfaces. Google DeepMind is an interdisciplinary AI lab focused on advancing AI to address complex global challenges and support product innovation, with safety and ethics as priorities. US compensation is listed as $207,000–$300,000, plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits. Individual pay depends on factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
