Ode, Anthropic's services venture, is defining frontier AI by bringing it into practice. The team tackles challenging AI problems for companies, turning frontier technology into real-world impact by working closely with their Applied AI and Product teams. They are backed by prominent investors and have offices in SF, NYC, Raleigh-Durham, and Dubai.

Requirements

8+ years of engineering experience.
Deep care for the craft of software engineering.
Experience shipping multiple complete products end-to-end.
Ability to write elegant, production-ready code across multiple disciplines.
Specific interest in applying software engineering fundamentals to AI systems.
Care about balancing frontier model capabilities with good system design.
Comfort talking with senior technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end technical outcomes as an individual contributor.
Work on a small, high-caliber team (2–5 engineers and a PM) building AI products for clients.
Set technical direction for projects.
Write code, spending approximately 75% of time coding.
Act as the go-to person for difficult technical challenges within the team.
Spend approximately 25% of time working directly with clients, understanding problems, discussing tradeoffs, and ensuring product needs are met.
Apply software engineering discipline to AI systems.
Design systems around testable hypotheses.
Curate durable data sets.
Ensure shipped products remain functional long-term.
Ship two to three products per year.
Explore and experiment with Claude to push the frontier of applied AI.
Share learnings with teammates.
