About The Position

The company is growing and seeking talented individuals to disrupt the home security space. They embrace a hybrid work model, expecting teams in the office on two core days per week (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) while allowing flexibility for the remainder of the week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in software development, system validation, or automated testing for distributed or embedded systems.
  • Strong software architecture and system design experience across distributed and stateful systems.
  • Advanced programming expertise (Python preferred) with strong object-oriented design principles.
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence cross-team engineering direction.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with device simulation, firmware validation, or IoT system architectures.
  • Experience designing validation frameworks and strategies for large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional automation or validation initiatives across product areas.
  • Deep understanding of validation practices including performance, resilience, and system reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the system-level validation strategy for critical customer journeys across devices, firmware, cloud services, and monitoring systems.
  • Architect and evolve scalable validation frameworks, environments, and test harnesses tailored to complex embedded and distributed systems.
  • Design and implement automated validation solutions that significantly expand coverage, improve reliability, and reduce system-level risk.
  • Develop and standardize software interfaces and tooling that interact with hardware systems, enabling consistent and scalable validation.
  • Drive early validation by reviewing product requirements, behavioral specifications, and design documents to identify risks prior to implementation.
  • Identify and close validation gaps that lead to integration and behavioral defects in production systems.
  • Lead cross-functional validation initiatives and influence engineering teams to adopt shift-left validation and system-level quality practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in validation reliability, performance, and signal quality using data-driven and modern validation methodologies.
  • Mentor engineers, provide technical leadership, and raise the bar on system thinking, validation practices, and debugging across the team.
