Staff Software Engineer
About The Position
Neon is building the automation platform for healthcare enterprises, focusing on automating patient access workflows for pharma companies. This includes automating prior authorizations, streamlining benefits verification, and unlocking financial assistance to make life-saving drugs accessible to patients facing cost barriers, complex insurance processes, and logistical challenges. Requirements
- Proficiency with Node, Typescript, and Python.
- Good understanding of system design concepts - distributed systems, reliability/performance tradeoffs.
- Experience in API design, implementation, and documentation.
- Experience using AI coding tools (Cursor, Github Copilot, Claude, etc).
- Excellent documentation and testing habits.
- Proficiency with version control (Git).
- 10x mindset - you’ll be among the first engineering hires!
- Fun human!
- Good time management and planning skills.
- 4-7 years of experience (or equivalent) as a software engineer.
- Experience working on projects touching many parts of a large codebase.
- Experience leading engineering projects from start to finish (e.g., large open source project, building a feature in a past role).
- Ambitious and effective.
- Ownership mentality.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with CI/CD systems and good DevOps skills.
- Experience working on distributed architectures.
- Experience at a scaling startup, leading projects that required defining requirements, effectively self-directing and setting priorities, and touching many areas of a large code base.
- Generalist experience across many areas of engineering (e.g., self-deployed K8s clusters, micro-services).
