About The Position

This role is a Staff-level individual contributor position within the Security Engineering team, focused on Coalition Control, a security platform that helps protect our policyholders from cyber crime. You’ll own critical backend services end-to-end, have broad autonomy to shape technical direction and will serve as a technical multiplier for the broader engineering team. You’ll have access to leading AI tools so you can just cook.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a backend engineer designing and building distributed systems and cloud-based services in production.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, including influencing architecture, setting technical standards, enabling other engineers, and collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Strong proficiency with AI workflows, Python/FastAPI, TypeScript/Node.js, or a similar modern backend language and framework.
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs, as well as integrating with third-party APIs or platforms.
  • Solid understanding of security concepts and practices.
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, outcome-oriented approach to problem solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with React.js is a plus.
  • Experience in a cybersecurity domain is a plus, but not strictly required

Responsibilities

  • Ship product fast: Work with Product, Design and Engineering to turn high-level product goals into iterative plans, shape scope, and contribute to development in a full-stack capacity with depth and expertise in backend.
  • Strengthen the platform: Own the technical vision, architecture, and expansion of the backend systems powering Coalition Control, while contributing to other Coalition Security Products
  • Hold a high bar for engineering craft: Raise our standards for code, code reviews, testing, and reliability, leveraging AI-assisted workflows to build faster and reduce toil
  • Unblock and elevate the team: Guide other engineers through architectural trade-offs, provide thoughtful yet speedy code reviews, and sharing knowledge with others
