The Staff Software Engineer - Salesforce is a technical leadership role responsible for supervising the implementation, integration, and delivery of Salesforce CRM solutions across Ford Pro’s product ecosystem. This role combines strong technical expertise in Salesforce and MuleSoft with a servant leadership mindset to guide a team of engineers, foster collaboration, drive platform consistency, and support alignment across product groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or a combination of education and experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise CRM platforms, with at least 5 years in Salesforce architecture and development.
  • 2+ years of experience with MuleSoft integration and API-led connectivity.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Salesforce Platform Architecture (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud).
  • Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (API design, RAML / OAS, connectors, orchestration).
  • Experience with RESTful API design and versioning.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release management (Copado preferred).
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring standards (aligned with Ford Pro’s CEP).
  • Experience with cloud architecture validation and performance/load testing.
  • Experience with usability testing and persona-driven design.
  • Git-based source control and repository management.
  • Tool proficiency: JIRA, Microsoft Teams, Miro.
  • Framework fluency: Salesforce Well-Architected Framework.
  • Cloud platform expertise: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud platform for hybrid and scalable integrations.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or leading technical teams in Agile environments.
  • Understanding of resource planning, team capacity management, and Agile estimation processes.
  • Ability to mentor team members, lead through influence, and build consensus across diverse teams.
  • Experience with InformaticaCloud (IICS) or similar cloud platform for batch data movement

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and performant Salesforce CRM solutions aligned with Salesforce.com Standard Practices and Ford Pro’s Common Engineering Policies (CEP), including API standards, logging norms, and release management.
  • Execute MuleSoft integration strategies to connect Salesforce with internal and external enterprise systems.
  • Facilitate Agile product development practices using JIRA to manage team backlogs, sprints, releases, and retrospectives.
  • Support target state architectures through usability testing, performance/load testing, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate and build alignment with other Ford Pro product groups.
  • Guide team members on technical decisions, task allocations, and product lifecycle transitions.
  • Promote transparency and shared accountability using progress reporting tools and OKRs.
  • Support and participate in Community of Practice (CoP) principles to ensure consistency in engineering and product management practices.
  • Support resource planning and team capacity forecasting through collaborative internal processes and related tools.
  • Align team tasks with strategic priorities and ensure efficient resource allocation within the engineering team.
  • Provide technical inputs for Tech Council reviews and assist in product lifecycle decisions.
