About The Position

Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer in Information Security, where you will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure software solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional partners to analyze requirements, manage risks, and deliver high-quality, resilient systems. You will drive continuous integration practices, oversee coding standards, and ensure adherence to security protocols. The team leads the modernization of multi-factor authentication and authentication services, transitioning from legacy systems to a secure, phishing-resistant, risk-based, and Zero Trust-aligned ecosystem. Key platforms include Okta Identity, Microsoft Entra Identity, and technologies such as FIDO2, YubiKey, Passkeys, Windows Hello for Business, Platform SSO, Conditional Access, and adaptive authentication. The team focuses on delivering scalable, secure solutions that enhance user authentication experiences while maintaining robust cyber security standards and collaborating effectively with stakeholders to meet evolving business and technical requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in software architecture, scalability, and designing modular, extensible solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming and coding standards, with experience in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Hands on experience with Identity Platforms at scale like Microsoft Entra and Okta identity and other such platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication, analysis, and engagement techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices to ensure secure software development and deployment.
  • Experience in risk analysis, requirement classification, and translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Ability to lead defect management, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain software quality.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 4years’ experience in software engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
  • 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Security+, GISF, CISSP, CCSP, or GSEC
  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity or related area and 2 years’ experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, analyze, and address technical and business requirements for information security solutions.
  • Design scalable, modular software architectures that meet security, availability, and maintainability standards.
  • Develop, review, and maintain secure code following industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes.
  • Conduct risk analysis and contribute to mitigation strategies during requirement gathering and solution design phases.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot security issues, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for software defects and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop Integration with Microsoft Entra and Okta Identity and other similar platforms to provide modern authentication services for the enterprise
