Staff Software Engineer - DevOps Platform Engineering

Position Summary CVS Health is hiring for a Staff Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and implement platform solutions and systems by applying advanced technical expertise to architect and code software applications, conduct system testing and debugging, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall technical direction and innovation of digital engineering projects.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering within enterprise-scale environments
- Strong hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, including architecture, capacity planning, upgrades, networking, security, and advanced troubleshooting
- Proven ability to design, deploy, and support large-scale Kubernetes environments spanning multiple clusters, regions, or business units.
- Deep understanding of GitOps methodologies, applying Git as the single source of truth for both application and infrastructure lifecycle management
- Extensive experience with Argo CD for enterprise-grade continuous deployment, release automation, and governance in Kubernetes environments
- Hands-on experience with Fleet for managing and orchestrating multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments at enterprise scale
- Strong experience working with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including enterprise networking, IAM, security controls, and cost optimization
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, OCI standards) and enterprise container registries
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to AI and automation initiatives in enterprise environments
- Familiarity with security best practices, including secrets management, RBAC, network policies, and identity integration
- Experience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)

- Leverage expertise to design and implement efficient and scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards
- Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability considerations to ensure that the overall solution meets the desired objectives
- Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure alignment, provide technical insights, and contribute to decision-making processes
- Contribute to the adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and code quality
