About The Position

We are urgently looking for a Staff Software Engineer - Back-End for a 6+ month contract role in Dallas, TX. This role is part of the Express Delivery Project, which focuses on quick wins, low effort, and high-value projects for Sam's. The team will work on small-sized projects for Sam's.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 6 years’ experience OR Master's Degree + 4 years experience building scalable e-commerce applications.
• Full Stack Development experience - Java/J2EE, Spring, Python, Javascript, HTML/CSS, HTTP/REST, SQL/NoSQL, Git.
• 5+ years of experience with building scalable, high performing and robust applications; design, develop, test and operate code across multiple production systems.
• Experience with Intellij, Eclipse or other IDE development tools.
• Knowledge of standard tools for optimizing and testing code.
• Ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic, fluid environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with no-sql technologies like Cassandra, couchbase, Flume or Hbase.
• Experience with big data methodologies involving Hadoop and Spark.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and related tools (i.e. Jenkins, Hudson, Maven).
• Experience with Code Quality Governance related tools (Sonar, Gerrit, PMD, FindBugs, Checkstyle, Emma, Cobertura, JIRA, etc).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and operate code across multiple production systems.
• Build scalable, high-performing, and robust applications.
• Write code for large-scale Analytics systems capable of ingesting, managing, storing, and analyzing hundreds of terabytes of data.
