CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and implement digital solutions and systems by applying advanced technical expertise to architect and code software applications, conduct system testing and debugging, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall technical direction and innovation of digital engineering projects. This position will lead operational excellence through automation and reliability improvements by driving root-cause resolution and enhancing observability. You will serve as the technical lead for complex production issues, establishing operational best practices, and ensuring applications meet availability, compliance, audit, and supportability standards.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in one of the following: C/C++ and/or .NET
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux/Windows environments and GitHub
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing, troubleshooting and maintaining high-performance applications
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues, with focus on performance, stability, and reliability
  • Solid foundation in object-oriented programming, data structures, memory management, and multithreading
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) preferred
  • Familiarity with healthcare claims processing, adjudication, or pricing systems
