The Staff Software Development Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end application development & delivery including production deployment, application operationalization, and observability. In this role, the right candidate will be a technologist and work with other Engineers in planning, prioritizing and performing assigned tasks within deadlines. The Staff Software Development Engineer will develop data pipelines to ingest, process and broadcast data across heterogenous databases. The Staff Software Development Engineer will be an advocate for and implementer of security best practices.

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience in software engineering from ideation to production deployment of software
  • 7+ years experience in full software development life cycle including ideation, coding, coding standards, testing, code reviews and production deployments
  • 7+ years of software development experience in enterprise/web applications
  • 7+ years of experience as full stack developer in Java-based technologies with focus on backend
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure, GCP or other public cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), SaaS application development/support, CI/CD practices, containerization, Kubernetes, and Agile/DevOps methodologies
  • 5+ years’ experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Rally, or equivalent product engineering collaboration tools
  • Experience in creating/managing GCP Storage Buckets, Composer workflows, Dataflow jobs, Cloud Scheduler, IAM (Service Account/Roles) Management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Writing automated unit and mock test cases for code coverage
  • Deployment and troubleshooting application in Cloud environment (GCP)
  • Experience with Kubernetes (GCP -GKE), Dataflow, Airflow, Google Spanner, MongoDb, Oracle, Postgres SQL, SOAP services, DevOps:: Github and Github Actions
  • Experience in log ingestion and building dashboards using Prometheus and Grafana
  • Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL database technologies
  • Query and decipher logging entries by application tiers and components using trace logs
  • Form requests in tooling like Postman , SOAP UI to invoke API endpoints
  • Experience working in a Scrum/Agile development methodology
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Expert Java programming knowledge on latest JDK versions, Spring framework
  • Knowledge of open-source packages especially those provided by Apache, Google, and Spring
  • Database knowledge – SQL, NoSQL, table structure, data relationships
  • Familiarity with GraphQL/gRPC
  • In-depth experience with building application programming interfaces (API) and frameworks
  • Experience with API security, analytics, throttling, caching, logging, request and response modifications
  • Extensive experience on Monolith to Microservices Migration
  • Extensive experience of Microservices Patterns and its right implementation
  • Extensive experience of the Cloud Native Development practices and 12 factor apps development
  • Healthcare Domain experience

Responsibilities

  • Build and deploy using GitHub, CircleCI, Harness as part of CI/CD process in leading Cloud Platforms - AWS, GCP or Azure etc
  • Continuously check and monitor App health and KPIs, support triage of any production issues as and when needed
  • Partner with application owners, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short-range technical solutions that meet business requirements
  • Analyze and contribute to project and business requirements based on product team milestones and priority
  • Actively participate in Agile Scrum team activities including Sprint Planning, Grooming, Scrum, Reviews and Retrospectives
  • Leverage expertise to design and implement efficient and scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards
  • Contributes to solution design and architecture discussions, collaborating with architects and senior engineers
  • Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability considerations to ensure that the overall solution meets the desired objectives
  • Participate in code reviews and ensures adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines
  • Communicate and coordinates with team members to ensure alignment, provide technical insights, and contribute to decision-making processes
  • Contribute to the adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and code quality
  • Participate in knowledge sharing activities, such as code reviews, tech talks, and workshops, to foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the team
  • Work with other developers and team members to implement complex features, enhance existing functionality, and ensure the delivery of high-quality code
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, helping them improve their technical skills and grow professionally
