Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) functions as a nonsupervisory staff specialist in a complex and sensitive licensing program and shall perform a broad range of high-level complex consultative duties with decision making authority as they relate to the Board of Pharmacy. The SSM I Specialist is an independent consultant expert with the authority to act on behalf of management for complex business ownership structures, complex business entity filings, and consolidate filings which require higher levels of research and investigation knowledge beyond that of an associate level analyst. The SSM I Specialist serves as a subject matter expert on specific Board regulatory and policy issues relating to the department's licensing program and provide consultative services on related issues. The SSMI Specialist also identifies and elevates issues of significant impact to the SSMII, Executive Officer and Deputy Executive Officer. The SSMI I Anticipate issues and advise Board executive staff on implications of the issues and policies.
