About The Position

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) functions as a nonsupervisory staff specialist in a complex and sensitive licensing program and shall perform a broad range of high-level complex consultative duties with decision making authority as they relate to the Board of Pharmacy. The SSM I Specialist is an independent consultant expert with the authority to act on behalf of management for complex business ownership structures, complex business entity filings, and consolidate filings which require higher levels of research and investigation knowledge beyond that of an associate level analyst. The SSM I Specialist serves as a subject matter expert on specific Board regulatory and policy issues relating to the department's licensing program and provide consultative services on related issues. The SSMI Specialist also identifies and elevates issues of significant impact to the SSMII, Executive Officer and Deputy Executive Officer. The SSMI I Anticipate issues and advise Board executive staff on implications of the issues and policies. Requirements

  • Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.
  • Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s).
  • Criminal Offender Record Information: Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).
  • Conflict of Interest: This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs' Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office.
