About The Position

The staff scheduler is responsible for scheduling adequate nursing staff to provide quality resident care. This role involves developing and maintaining master work schedules for nursing staff across healthcare, assisted living, and Memory Support units. The scheduler must adapt schedules as needed to ensure resident care and regulatory compliance, while also incorporating staff requests and communicating closely with management to anticipate and address needs. Additionally, the position requires managing scheduling software, verifying agency invoices, assisting with payroll and PBJ hour calculations, and monitoring staff certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain master work schedules for nursing staff on healthcare, assisted living and Memory Support.
  • Make changes to schedule(s) as needed to ensure adequate care for residents and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Incorporate PAL requests from staff into scheduling process.
  • Communicate closely with Unit Managers and DON to anticipate needs and make necessary schedule changes.
  • Publish and or email schedules within reasonable time frames for staff to plan accordingly.
  • Verify and monitor Nursing Agency invoices for payroll.
  • Monitor computer scheduling software daily for staff changes and update as needed.
  • Assist payroll with calculating and verifying PBJ Hours for Nursing staff.
  • Assist with onboarding of new nursing staff and providing access to scheduling software.
  • Monitor and report to DON and Unit Managers of nursing staff compliance with BLS/First Aid and CPR.
  • All other duties as assigned.
