Requirements

  • 4+ years of work experience, including experience on FDOT projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • EIT certification.
  • Proficiency with CAD, particularly Microstation and OpenRoads.
  • Familiarity with FDOT design standards and policies.
  • Excellent, clear, and concise oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute information to meetings, assist with effective client presentations, and prepare written reports and meeting minutes.
  • Ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible individual with initiative and ability to tackle new projects, challenges, and concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Planning and/or Engineering experience with infrastructure, which may include environmental document preparation, cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans, and project displays.
  • Experience in a client-facing role, either as a team or individual, making presentations and managing client expectations.
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
  • Working towards Florida PE.
  • OpenRoads Designer (3D) experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and design of infrastructure projects for roadways, including intersections, collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates, and interstate interchanges.
  • Perform various roles on multi-disciplined projects, such as planning, technical design of minor projects, production lead, task leader, and assisting Project Managers and lead engineers.
  • Assist in developing project scopes and budgets.
  • Interface with and maintain client needs for the Project Manager.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff and design/drafters.
  • Develop project plans and maintain project schedules.
  • Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices, including quality and safety standards.
