About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in an acute health care setting. The Emergency Department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients. The role requires a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• BSN required within five years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments appropriate to the patient population and individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals; revise the plan of care with the multidisciplinary team based on evaluative data.
• Participate in process improvement activities to achieve clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance measures.
• Perform operational responsibilities.
• Delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
