About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In line with department policies and nursing care standards, provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients.

The role includes assessing patient health status, documenting planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, evaluating and documenting responses and outcomes, and revising care plans as appropriate within a multidisciplinary team. The RN also participates in process improvement focused on clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. As part of a High Reliability Organization, the role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• BSN required by five years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments appropriate to the patient population and individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve appropriate patient outcomes.
• Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals; revise the plan of care based on evaluation data as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Delegate nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
