About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) according to criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients. The department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. As a High Reliability Organization, OhioHealth expects this role to focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• A BSN is required by five years of employment.
• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio, or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multistate compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health-status assessments, as applicable to the population or individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Revise plans of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in process-improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Carry out operational responsibilities.
• Maintain focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties.
• Delegate nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs using criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
