About The Position

The registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model, and under general supervision. This role focuses on protecting, promoting wellness, and optimizing health. The nurse will be responsible for triaging patients by assessing the severity of symptoms and referring them to the appropriate setting or level of care. Additionally, the nurse will alleviate suffering through the treatment of the human response, partnering with the patient, their family, and significant others. Key duties include documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care, educating patients on their disease process, assuring continuity of care, and educating patients and families in preventative care to promote health and well-being.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
  • One or more years of Wound experience

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in area of clinical specialty
  • BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
  • Current CWCN certification by Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB). Or, willing to obtain within 12 months (note: this exam requires a Bachelor’s degree)
