About The Position

The Staff Registered Nurse position is for the Special Care Nursery department at Olympia Fields Hospital in Olympia Fields, IL, working day shifts. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. This role also involves directing and guiding patient/family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel, while maintaining professional nursing standards. The nurse must be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment, and provide a safe environment for patients and visitors. The position requires utilizing the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care for neonates, from post-delivery stabilization through discharge. Specifically in the NICU, the nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of practice with assistance to neonates.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • NRP (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • One year experience in an acute care setting with experience in nursery or NICU environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
