About The Position

This is a 0.75 FTE position for nights, working 7p-7a, with 5 12-hr shifts per pay period (Sat/Sun) and 48 weekends per year. The role requires 2 years of NICU experience. The pay is a flat rate of $47.80/hr plus a night shift differential, with an additional $2/hr critical care pay after unit-based orientation. This position is benefits eligible. The primary function is to assist patients in moving through their episode of care effectively and safely, while maintaining quality and safety. The role involves delegating, directing, overseeing, and providing developmentally appropriate patient care. It requires practicing professional nursing and promoting patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and maintaining a current Ohio Nursing License.

Requirements

  • 2 years of NICU experience required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to provide culturally competent care with a demonstrated commitment to ensuring quality and safety initiatives
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
  • Assesses individualized patient needs.
  • Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel.
  • Plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
  • Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
