About The Position

The UFlex Float Pool offers the opportunity to care for a wide variety of Acute Care patients across Northside Hospital's legacy campuses (Atlanta, Cherokee and Forsyth). This position consists of a 1 shift per week commitment, and the team enjoys self-scheduling. Northside Hospital is an award-winning, state-of-the-art, and continually growing institution, expanding the quality and reach of its care to patients and communities. The uFlex Registered Nurse is licensed to practice professional nursing in the state of Georgia, in good standing and without limitations. This role requires a minimum of two years of full-time experience as a registered professional nurse and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, an Associate Degree (AD), or a Diploma in Nursing. uFlex Registered Nurse positions are for nurses who have reached a specific level of nursing experience to possess the knowledge, skills, competencies, and critical thinking abilities to work in specialty areas. The uFlex RNs will be assigned to work in areas where competency has been verified and are required to travel and work in multiple settings, both inpatient and outpatient, within a 30-mile radius of a Northside Hospital campus at any given time.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations
  • Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
  • Minimum of two years (2) years full-time experience as a registered professional nurse
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, an Associate Degree (AD) or a Diploma in Nursing

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree
  • Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units
  • Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan and provide professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.
  • Manage care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the nursing division, to include the Northside Nursing Collaborative Care Model.
  • Work in specialty areas where competency has been verified.
  • Travel and work in multiple settings, both inpatient and outpatient, within a 30-mile radius of a NSH campus at any given time.
