About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The Procedural Care Unit (PCU) operates 24/7/365 and sees an average of 55 cases daily, offering a fast-paced environment. PCU provides care both before and after procedures for Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, and Cardiovascular labs. Procedures include TAVR's, ablations, biopsies, catheterizations, and more. PCU is an outpatient/closed unit with no floating requirements. Day shift has a holiday requirement of either one working holiday or one on-call shift. Weekends require one 12-hour shift every six weeks, either Saturday or Sunday. A 6-week set/repeating schedule is provided for better work-life balance. On-call duty involves one weekend from 7 am to 7 pm, one to two times yearly. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. The RN provides professional nursing care services to patients according to department policies and nursing care standards, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
  • BLS certification
  • BSN required at 5 years of employment

  • ED, ICU, or cardiac/intermediate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and or individual (30%).
  • Based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs (30%).
  • Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriately determined intervals; as part of a multidisciplinary team, revises plan of care based on evaluative data (20%).
  • Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance (10%).
  • Operations (10%).
