The Procedural Care Unit (PCU) sees an average of 55 cases daily, offering a fast-paced environment. PCU provides care both before and after procedures for Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology and Cardiovascular labs. Procedures include TAVR's, ablations, biopsies, catheterizations and more. PCU is an outpatient/closed unit, with no floating requirements. The unit has a day shift holiday requirement of either one working holiday or one on-call shift. Weekends require one 12-hour shift every 8 weeks, either Saturday or Sunday. Scheduling is an 8-week set/repeating schedule for better work-life balance. On-call duty involves one weekend from 7a-7p, one to two times yearly. The role is inspiring and rewarding, providing general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. The RN provides professional nursing care services to patients according to department policies and nursing care standards, and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to assigned patients.
