About The Position

The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients. The RN demonstrates competency in delivery of care to all patient populations, and is responsible for the management of both the unique and predictable needs of the patient undergoing an operative or invasive procedure in the Operating Room and/or the GI/Bronch lab. The Registered Nurse job description incorporates the 15 essential functions of the job description, which are adapted from the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent within 90 days of hire.
  • Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to area of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients.
  • Managing the unique and predictable needs of patients undergoing an operative or invasive procedure in the Operating Room and/or the GI/Bronch lab.
  • Demonstrating competency in delivery of care to all patient populations.
  • Participating in weeknight, weekend & Holiday on-call rotation.
  • Participating in department orientation over an 8-hour working day schedule for the first 4 months.
