Staff RN - Observation Unit
About The Position
Medical Observation Unit (MOU) is a 60 bed medical surgical floor focused on the care of patients designated as observation status. The goal of the unit being to address or make a determination within 24-48 hours for patients acute medical needs. From there, patients may be discharged for outpatient follow up or continue their care on an inpatient unit if warranted. This position provides general nursing care to patients and families along the health illness continuum in diverse health care settings while collaborating with the health care team. He/She is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties. Requirements
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
- State Driver's License.
- RN - Registered Nurse

Responsibilities
- Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and or individual (30%).
- Based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs (30%).
- Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriately determined intervals; as part of a multidisciplinary team, revises plan of care based on evaluative data (20%).
- Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance (10%).
- Operations (10%).
