Capital Health is seeking a dedicated Staff RN for their Heart and Vascular Pre/Post/PACU unit. This role involves delivering quality patient care through the nursing process, ensuring patient safety, and providing support for pain management. The RN will mobilize resources, provide information and coping mechanisms to patients and families, and formulate discharge plans. The position requires integrating assessment data with intuition to anticipate age-specific healthcare needs, ensuring effective handoff communication, and proactively identifying issues related to patient education and medication management. The RN will also use discretionary judgment to modify care regimens, facilitate appropriate responses from the healthcare team, and explore care regimens with case managers and providers. This role involves seeing the entire unit's needs and self-motivation to adjust staffing patterns. The RN is expected to attend educational sessions to improve assessment skills, plan and provide individualized comfort measures using evidence-based practice, and participate in unit-based and hospital-based committees, performance improvement activities, Joint Commission readiness, and efforts to achieve successful patient satisfaction scores.
