About The Position

The Lead supports the leader by acting as a resource for staff and providers, assists with daily operations, and coordinates training and orientation. Required skills include critical thinking, excellent verbal and written communication, the ability to work autonomously/be self-directed, collaborating with others, acting as a change agent, and ability to manage conflicts. The lead RN is able to complete all work of other ambulatory services RNs in their designated care area. In addition, this nurse works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care. This role systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care. The nurse utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health. The nurse establishes goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs across settings with the patient, family, and/or other care providers. The nurse considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care. The nurse delegates and supervises care in accordance with the WI Nurse Practice. This role participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for their professional development.

Requirements

• Clinical experience and/or interest in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment.
• At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
• Nursing licensure required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• RNs must have/attain an oncology nursing certification or complete 12 hours oncology-focused CE education/year on an ongoing basis.
