About The Position

United Health Services (UHS), the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York’s Southern Tier, is seeking a Staff Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Surgery OR to join our team at the UHS Ambulatory Surgery Center Operating Room in Johnson City, NY. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery environment, supporting surgical procedures and ensuring safe, efficient patient flow from pre-op through recovery. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Operating Room, UHS Ambulatory Surgery Center at Wilson Place Primary Work Shift: Multiple shifts available Compensation Range: $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.

Requirements

A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
Current NYS RN License

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.

Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.
Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policy.
Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.
Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies.
Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.
Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.
Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
