About The Position

The Quantitative Biosciences Institute (QBI) Krogan Lab at UCSF is seeking a qualified and motivated Staff Research Associate II (SRA II) to join a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment focused on neurodevelopmental disorders and functional proteomics. Under general supervision of the research leadership, the incumbent will assist in mapping protein interactions and pathways in various cell types involved in neurodevelopmental disorders. This role is an excellent opportunity to learn several valuable, cutting edge techniques in molecular biology, neuroscience and proteomics.

Responsibilities

  • Mammalian cell culture and maintenance
  • Molecular cloning
  • Affinity purification and proximity labeling experiments
  • Expression of tagged proteins and patient-derived variants
  • Preparation of samples for downstream mass spectrometry analysis
  • Application of molecular, cellular, and biochemical assays to validate experimental findings
