The main roles of this position will be to run rodent behavioral experiments in a systems neuroscience laboratory (perform in vivo electrophysiology with optogenetic manipulations during motor learning and sleep), help with processing behavioral and electrophysiologic data, and perform histology and microscopy of brain sections. This job involves handling mice, operating small electronics for behavioral experiments, basic coding and some basic wet-lab skills. A secondary responsibility will be to perform mouse survival surgeries for neural circuit mapping and sleep behavior experiments (when tasks related to the main roles are completed).
