About The Position

The Dialysis Nurse is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and outcome for the chronic and/or acute dialysis patient. Coordinates, delegates, and provides direct nursing care for patients by working cooperatively with patients, family members, and all patient care team members. Checks and records patients’ vitals before, during, and after dialysis treatment. Operates dialysis machines efficiently in accordance with policy and procedure guidelines. Ensures that hemodialysis treatments are administered to patients correctly. Monitors patients during dialysis treatment to identify any adverse reactions. Prepares and updates nursing care plans. Promptly notifies the appropriate medical practitioner of any problems that occur during dialysis treatments. After a minimum of 3 months post training, will assume a role in the after hours on call rotation. Will be expected to sit for national certification within 18 months of employment.

  • Registered Nurse
  • Experience in dialysis nursing
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Skill in coordinating, delegating, and providing direct nursing care
  • Proficiency in operating dialysis machines
  • Ability to monitor patients during dialysis and identify adverse reactions
  • Competence in preparing and updating nursing care plans
  • Ability to promptly notify medical practitioners of issues
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotation
  • Commitment to obtaining national certification within 18 months
