Learn about the Danaher Business System which makes everything possible. The Staff R&D Engineer serves as SiCore firmware developer. SiCore is a STM32-based board used, primarily, to precisely control temperature during "assay runs". Assays implement molecular diagnostics. Perform as an embedded systems engineer for this mature, but not yet shipping product. Become a subject matter expert, assisting cross-functional teams to diagnose complex problems, usually regarding edge-case accuracy. This position reports to the Director of Firmware Engineering and is part of Systems R&D located in Sunnyvale and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Serve as primary embedded daughter board firmware developer. The STM32-based board is used, primarily, to precisely control temperature during diagnostic studies. Become a subject matter expert in those diagnostic studies, assisting cross-functional teams to diagnose complex problems, usually regarding edge-case accuracy. Develop, as well, on a Cortex-A53 board, writing firmware supporting the daughter board. Innovate primarily on new hardware systems to extend and improve molecular diagnostics systems. Concentrate on real-time logic for all domains, including baremetal and ISR logic.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related work experience, OR Master’s degree in field with 6+ years of related work experience, OR Doctoral degree in field with 3+ years of work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience with the following: Embedded C/C++
  • RTOS
  • Baremetal programming
  • ISRs
  • Real-time programming
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Support work will include, at least, short car trips to local manufacturing sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience in the molecular diagnostics field or biotech industry
  • Professional or academic experience in developing and maintaining industrial process control logic
  • Professional experience with logic analyzers
