About The Position

Develops and conducts studies relating to equipment productivity improvement, process capability, material handling, methods & process improvement. Lead new equipment research, justification, acquisition, and implementation. Also gets involved with trouble-shooting mechanical processes on all production equipment regarding their performance, manufacturability, and competitiveness. Utilize Quality principles and tools, and apply growing knowledge of our manufacturing processes, product requirements, manufacturing equipment and quality systems, gained internally and externally to prevent and when needed, resolve manufacturing technical problems, and product quality issues. Sustain and improve foundational quality competencies and capabilities to meet business objectives and enhance our brand image.

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience in Injection Molding process, tooling design, setup, problem solving and system design.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language to all levels in the organization (MS Word, Excel, PPT)
  • Quality Management Systems Experience
  • Problem Solving Experience; familiarity with 8D, KT PSDM or equivalent
  • Experience in manufacturing environments addressing internal operations to improve performance, expand capability, increase capacity, and lower costs.
  • Project Management Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Engineering, Materials Science or Equivalent Progressive accountabilities and relevant experience in an injection molding environment
  • Possess process optimization certifications (Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent)
  • Statistical Process Control, Gage R&R, sampling, and variation reduction
  • Capital Project Forecasting Experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop new processes and assess and documents new and existing processes.
  • Implement and evaluate changes to existing processes designed to improve product quality, productivity and overall equipment efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Molding Technicians, Technical Operators, Quality Specialist, Engineering Specialist, and other molding personnel.
  • Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, improve yield and throughput, drive cost reduction activities and improve on part quality.
  • Coordinates the molding efforts on new product launches, setting up and/or revising manufacturing processes and assisting the manufacturing operations in problem solving and continuous process improvements
  • Apply quality principles for improvements to current processes and quality systems.
  • Participate and/lead risk assessment activities and ensure proper change management protocols are followed.
  • Ensure execution of quality management system and process capability performance matrix including process control parameters, customer complaints, and root cause analysis.
  • Lead and coordinate problem solving efforts encountered by operations that impact the quality/reliability of our products.
  • Coordinate with R&D and others to define comprehensive experiments & trials evaluate results, draw conclusions & make recommendations for implementing projects meeting Time/Cost/Performance objectives.
  • Champion risk mitigation and change management through Temporary Change Authorization, Potential Problem Analysis and Failure Mode Effects Analysis.
  • Expand knowledge and skill in the areas of injection molding, tooling, equipment and materials, quality systems and product design.
  • Provide training/coaching to internal teams as needed to improve current and future capabilities to meet Energizer needs.
