About The Position

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. This position will be served at the Santa Maria location. Duties include, but are not limited to: Providing assessments and treatments related to a variety of behavioral health problems, including tobacco use, sleep problems, weight management, chronic illness, treatment/medication adherence and adjustment issues or life stressors. Practicing using a wide variety of treatment modalities with an emphasis on Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) including, but not limited to CBT, CPT, PE, ACT, ICT, MI, CBTI, and/of Mindfulness. Complying with all computerized patient record system (CPRS) documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g., entering diagnostic and procedure codes). Attending and participating in administrative and informational meetings held by the Clinical Service, Facility Service Line Director, and Facility Director. Functioning within multidisciplinary teams (psychiatry, social work, nursing, primary care professionals) and actively participating in treatment, teaching, supervision, and administrative functions as needed by the organization. Applying knowledge and/or experience working with a broad range of mental health disorders, including PTSD, anxiety-related disorders, mood-related disorders, substance use disorders and other mental health conditions in person and/or via clinical video teleheath (CVT).
