Job Summary Responsible for providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups in an outpatient behavioral health setting. The Outpatient Therapist conducts clinical assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and delivers evidence-based interventions to support patients coping with mental health, emotional, or psychosocial challenges. This role collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote recovery, well-being, and continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Social Work required or Master's Degree Counseling required or Master's Degree Psychology required or Master's Degree Related Field of Study required
  • Experience in behavioral health or social work, preferably in an outpatient or acute care setting 2-3 years required
  • Experience with treatment planning, risk assessment, and crisis intervention 2-3 years required
  • Strong knowledge of clinical assessment tools, diagnostic criteria (DSM-5), and therapeutic interventions.
  • Skilled in establishing therapeutic rapport and maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Culturally competent and sensitive to the needs of diverse populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work with diverse populations and co-occurring mental health or substance use conditions 1-2 years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct outpatient therapy services to patients using approved clinical methods and therapeutic approaches.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Deliver individual, group, and/or family therapy based on clinical needs and patient goals.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other care providers to coordinate treatment and referrals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings, case consultations, and care planning activities.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding patient care and privacy (e.g., HIPAA, licensing standards).
