About The Position

The Alaska Psychiatric Institute in Anchorage is seeking a full-time, board-eligible or board-certified Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric care in an acute inpatient setting. The incumbent will conduct assessments, lead treatment planning, and oversee psychological services for adult and adolescent patients. This position functions within a multidisciplinary team that includes therapists, psychologists, nurses, case managers, and pharmacists. Additional duties include contributing to program development and supporting staff in maintaining a therapeutic, recovery-oriented treatment milieu. Qualified candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. with psychiatry board eligibility or certification and meet licensure requirements for practice in Alaska; experience in inpatient or forensic settings is preferred.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. with psychiatry board eligibility or certification
  • Meet licensure requirements for practice in Alaska
  • Pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting
  • Submit to fingerprinting and background check screening
  • Provide proof of Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap), Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR), and Varicella Immunizations
  • Provide proof of Hepatitis B (immunity or declination statement)
  • Provide annual Influenza vaccination or a signed declination statement
  • Proof of Tuberculosis screening within the past 12 months
  • Professional License Required
