About The Position

The Staff Project Engineer works independently and in support of more senior project engineers to design, prioritize, schedule, and implement major construction and engineering projects. The role initiates project scope development and prepares preliminary design engineering schedules, cost estimates, and qualitative and quantitative risk assessments. It authorizes preliminary scope reviews, scope definitions, and estimates, and chairs regular management update meetings covering scope, budget, engineering costs, schedules, and design estimates. This is an individual contributor position. The position is hybrid, with an established schedule requiring in-person work at an assigned location. Remote work is expected to be performed from the employee’s primary residence, subject to company guidelines. The role requires availability for a primary assignment supporting DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that affect customer service.
