The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Staff Professional Trainee for the Department of Human Resources, Accommodations team. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with departments across campus and evaluate accommodation requests. The Staff Professional Trainee position reports to the Accommodations Coordinator. This position is responsible for receiving, researching, and evaluating, requests for employee accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), Fair Housing Act, and Title VII. Duties include, but are not limited to: Reviews requests for accommodations under the ADA, PWFA, Fair Housing Act, and Title VII religious’ accommodation Responsible for engaging employees, medical professionals, supervisors, and HR Business Partners to assist employees with disabilities who require workplace accommodations Determines whether requests qualify under law; determines reasonableness of request, and makes recommendations for approval; author accommodation recommendations Provide communication and training to employees and supervisors Provide guidance to campus regarding issues relating to accommodations Ensure compliance with federal and state laws
