About The Position

The HR Assistant at SWD Inc. is responsible for supporting the HR function along with the rest of the HR and Training Teams. The right candidate will have a customer service attitude and is willing to listen and assist employees on a daily basis. They will embody the SWD Better4 Purpose Statement; Better People, Better Parts, Better Environment and Better Boring. We're looking for someone who is willing to take on new challenges and wants to grow in the HR Field. They also must have a full generalist attitude as they will quickly move from benefits to payroll to employee relations. We are willing to train the right candidate in areas of knowledge they may have gaps as we pride ourselves on our continuous learning culture. This position is on-site at our location in Addison, IL. Remote work is not available.

Requirements

  • Previous HR or Office Experience and/or higher education in Human Resources or Business preferred
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to get along well with diverse personalities; tactful, mature and flexible
  • Sound administrative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer and general office equipment skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Suite skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams an added bonus
  • Manufacturing experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set up and attend recruiting events such as job fairs and interview dates.
  • Post open positions internally and externally (job boards, colleges, IDES, etc.)
  • Serve as first point of contact for all candidates via interview screen or direct meeting. Coordinate all in-house interviews
  • Assist each department in determining their resource planning needs by reviewing department changes in staff and business demands
  • Plan and conduct New Employee Orientation
  • Assist employees with enrolling in benefits and answer employee questions
  • Assist with ordering weekly lunches for employees on all three shifts
  • Ensure accurate employment records are maintained through filing, data entry, and internal audits
  • Responsible for employee record retention
  • Manage digital employee files for Training and Human Resources
  • Compile data for the HR Director to ensure accurate company reporting
  • Assist with in-person employee trainings and meetings as needed
  • Become a contributing member of SWD's Training Team
  • Assist company administrative responsibilities as needed
  • Coordinate and attend company functions such as Holiday party and company-sponsored events
  • Assist with planning and coordinating SWD's Better4U Committee (Wellness Committee) meetings and events
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources and HR Manager with Employee Investigations
  • Maintain Company-Wide Communication Boards
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned
