Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Professional, Environmental Engineer in our Chicago, IL office. The position will provide the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to contaminated site assessment, management, and remediation for a diverse national private and public sector client base, while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Regular field work and overnight travel.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in the same.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology.
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting.
  • Experience with ArcView, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers.

Responsibilities

  • Fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction
  • Groundwater, soil, and sediment remedy evaluation, cost estimation, and design calculations
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals
  • Task and project-level responsibility for performing, managing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments
