Staff Product Operations Manager, Platform

Samsara
•$126,000 - $202,500•Remote

About The Position

Samsara's Product Operations team is looking for a hands-on builder to join our Platform team and help accelerate our enterprise-ready roadmap. You will support the Billing, Org & Auth, and Security product teams, working closely with R&D leaders to turn ambiguous questions into rigorous analyses, repeatable workflows, and internal tools used across our Product and Engineering organization. You move ARR. Not "contribute to." Revenue (or an equivalent business result) grows because of decisions you made. You might investigate why enterprise customers stall on a security or permissions requirement, combine signals from thousands of support tickets and customer conversations to find what's blocking expansion, or build a dashboard that helps hundreds of product managers and engineers see how platform gaps translate into pipeline and retention risk. This is an individual-contributor role for someone who has already shown they can build and ship. You do not need a technical background. However, you do need to use modern AI and development tools to move beyond a prototype: work with data, write and debug code using AI, validate the results, put a useful tool in front of users, and improve it until people trust and rely on it.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a role such as product operations, data or product analytics, business operations, consulting, technical product management, or another environment where you solved ambiguous problems with data and technology.
  • A demonstrated record of building and shipping something useful for real users, such as an internal tool, application, dashboard, automation, data product, or repeatable analytical workflow.
  • A track record of connecting your work to revenue or an equivalent business result (ARR, retention, expansion, cost), and the ability to show how your decisions caused it.
  • Experience structuring and analyzing messy or large datasets, validating the results, and explaining what the analysis does and does not prove.
  • Strong product and customer judgment: you start with the user problem and business outcome, not the technology.
  • Clear written and verbal communication. You can explain technical or analytical work to non-technical partners and executives without losing the important details.
  • High ownership, curiosity, and attention to detail. You are comfortable learning quickly, asking sharp questions, forming a point of view, and iterating through ambiguity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a B2B technology company or working closely with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Experience in Product Operations functions: defining and tracking product roadmaps and feature requests, and bringing the voice of the customer to every product conversation.
  • Familiarity with enterprise platform domains such as billing and monetization, identity, access, and org management, or security and compliance, and with what enterprise buyers require in each.

Responsibilities

  • Drive ARR through platform decisions. Identify the enterprise-readiness gaps that most limit new business, expansion, and retention, and shape prioritization so that fixing them measurably moves ARR.
  • Accelerate enterprise-ready delivery by partnering with the Billing, Org & Auth, and Security product teams to define priorities, remove blockers, and track progress against the commitments customers and Sales are waiting on.
  • Build and ship internal data and AI products that help Product and Engineering teams understand platform usage, customer friction, and the highest-impact opportunities to improve.
  • Analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data, including product telemetry, support tickets, customer conversations, feature requests, surveys, and product metadata, to find patterns that would be difficult to see manually.
  • Turn one-time analyses into reliable, repeatable tools and workflows with clear data definitions, quality checks, documentation, and feedback loops.
  • Translate complex findings into clear, decision-ready recommendations for R&D leadership, while preserving the evidence and methodology behind them.
  • Quantify the revenue impact of platform investments and report on it, so every roadmap bet has a clear, defensible ARR case before and after launch.
  • Own projects end to end: scope the problem, identify and connect the right data, build the first version, launch it, measure adoption and business impact, and continue improving it.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully, checking outputs, debugging failures, and applying sound judgment rather than treating generated work as automatically correct.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Benefits

  • Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.
  • professional development stipend
  • comprehensive health and parental leave plans
