About The Position

This role is for a Staff Product Manager focused on the Data Governance & Data Security Platform. The position is a 12-month contract with a hybrid work model, requiring 4 days onsite per week in Glendale, CA. The rate is up to $103.5/hr on W2. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data governance frameworks, product management, and various data catalog and access governance platforms. Responsibilities include owning the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery of the enterprise data governance platform, leading governance capabilities, partnering with various teams to implement controls, defining and operationalizing data stewardship, and translating requirements into scalable solutions. The role also involves driving adoption of governance tooling, measuring effectiveness, and collaborating with engineering teams.

Requirements

7+ years of Product Management or Product Ownership experience.
Experience leading enterprise data governance, security, compliance, or platform initiatives.
Strong knowledge of data cataloging, metadata management, access governance, lineage, and data quality.
Experience with Snowflake and modern data platform ecosystems.
Strong understanding of data engineering workflows, data warehousing, analytics, and governance integration.
Experience working with SOX, CCPA, GDPR, content security, or similar compliance requirements.
Ability to influence cross -functional stakeholders across technical and non -technical teams.
Strong SQL skills with ability to analyze data and validate governance controls.
Experience using AI -assisted tools such as Cursor, Claude, Copilot, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

Own the product strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and delivery of the enterprise data governance platform.
Lead governance capabilities including data catalog, access governance, data quality, lineage, metadata, and classification.
Partner with InfoSec, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and Data Engineering teams to implement governance controls.
Define and operationalize enterprise data stewardship, ownership models, business glossaries, and quality standards.
Translate regulatory and business requirements into scalable governance solutions.
Drive adoption of governance tooling and establish governance best practices across business units.
Measure governance effectiveness through audit readiness, risk reduction, data trust, and data accessibility metrics.
Collaborate with engineering teams to embed governance controls throughout the data lifecycle.
Author product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and governance policies.
Evaluate build versus buy decisions for governance and security tooling.
