About The Position

Our PAT (Probe, Assembly & Test) Operations Group is looking for a talented Staff Process Engineer to join our team in Palm Bay, FL. We develop and manufacture Radiation Hardened ICs for the Space Industry — work that demands precision, reliability, and engineering excellence at every step. In this role, you will develop and qualify high-reliability semiconductor assembly processes and equipment, advancing them from concept through to manufacturing readiness. You'll work across a range of established and evolving packaging and assembly process technologies that directly support mission-critical space applications.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Microelectronics, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Self-motivated and conscientious with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in a high-mix environment is a plus
  • CAD experience is highly desirable; Fusion 360 proficiency preferred
  • Familiarity with Statistical Concepts as applied to manufacturing (e.g., Mean, Std. Dev., SPC, Gage R&R, ANOVA)
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Equipment such as XYZ robots, wire bonders, die attach systems, ovens/furnaces, and conveyor belts
  • Familiarity with Assembly Processes including epoxy dispensing, underfill/film attachment, wirebonding, hermetic sealing, and related techniques
  • Experience with additive manufacturing
  • Experience with Mil-Std environmental testing

Responsibilities

  • Sustain and improve high-reliability semiconductor assembly processes
  • Identify and procure new equipment for process enhancement
  • Investigate root causes of assembly losses and develop methods to eliminate them
  • Analyze manufacturing data to drive process improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the robustness of manufacturing systems
  • Support the introduction of new products into the manufacturing line
  • Provide technical expertise in support of customer needs
  • Validate and verify processes in the Quality Conformance Inspection (QCI) area
  • Design and qualify tooling used across various assembly processes
