About The Position

The Staff Process Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for driving the development, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes for semiconductor equipment components. This role provides deep expertise in precision machining and surface treatment, leads complex problem-solving initiatives, and sets technical direction across programs. The Staff Engineer partners cross-functionally to improve quality, cost, and delivery while supporting advanced NPI and manufacturing scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in precision machining and surface treatment processes.
  • Strong expertise in CNC machining, GD&T, and manufacturing process development.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM, data analysis tools, and ERP/MES systems.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and drive cross-functional results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and optimization of precision machining processes (CNC milling, turning, tapping) for complex components.
  • Define process flows, tolerances, and control strategies for high-precision and contamination-sensitive parts.
  • Oversee and improve surface treatment processes (anodizing, electropolishing, passivation, plating, chemical cleaning).
  • Drive yield improvement, cost reduction, and cycle time optimization initiatives.
  • Lead complex root cause analysis and corrective actions using DOE, 5-Why, and data-driven methods.
  • Own process risk assessment and implement mitigation strategies for critical components.
  • Lead NPI process development including tooling, fixtures, and pilot builds; provide DFM input.
  • Serve as SME and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Establish best practices, SOPs, process specs, and control plans to drive standardization.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, materials, and machining strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technical development across the team.
