The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us. Meet the team: We are the sensor raw materials team within Global Engineering Operations at Dexcom. Our role within Dexcom is to transfer manufacturing from R&D to operations, sustain production, and make continuous improvement to sensor manufacturing. As members of Global Engineering Operations, we are an interdisciplinary team that partners with R&D, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, regulatory affairs, and more. Where you come in: You will work closely with R&D, manufacturing, supplier quality, and sourcing teams to identify raw material needs You develop understanding of raw material variability to process tolerances and capability You will correlate material characteristics and test methods to final product performance You partner with sourcing and supplier quality engineering as a technical lead point of contact for suppliers and interface with internal stakeholders You lead root cause investigations relating to raw materials both internally and at suppliers You identify and develop qualifications plans for alternate materials suppliers as part of supply chain risk mitigation strategy

Requirements

  • strong understanding of polymer chemistry and structure-property relationships
  • first-hand experience of polymer and adhesive characterization techniques
  • experienced managing suppliers and associated quality events (SCN, SCAR, RCI, etc.)
  • experience with medical devices industry and standards (ISO 13485, ISO 9001)
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience
  • or Master’s degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience
  • or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with PCB/electronics manufacturing and materials
  • Preferred experience with SPC
  • Preferred experience leading root cause investigations and other Kaizen events

Responsibilities
