Staff/Principal Full Stack Blockchain Engineer
About The Position
This role will join a small team of 7 senior software engineers and will be the first full time blockchain engineering hire. As the primary owner for Groma's onchain tech stack, we're looking for someone that has spent enough time in the space to have developed the wisdom to see around corners and guide the team in the right direction, paired with significant hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining smart contracts in a production environment on EVM networks (Ethereum and Base) and connecting them to backend and frontend interfaces. The core technologies that the team uses are: Languages: Python, TypeScript, Solidity; Frameworks: Django, React; Infrastructure: Google Cloud, Postgres, Ethereum. This is a role for someone that can quickly ramp up to execute independently and effectively across the range of technologies described above. You do not need to be an expert in everything mentioned, but should be very comfortable building web applications in Django or a comparable framework and at least interested in learning the rest.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining smart contracts in a production environment on EVM networks (Ethereum and Base)
- Experience connecting smart contracts to backend and frontend interfaces
- Startup interest and willingness to figure out unknowns
- Product mindset and comfort working directly with stakeholders
- Technical breadth and willingness to work across backend, frontend, and blockchain infrastructure
- Desire to move fast while building reliable, secure, and easily-maintainable systems
- Comfort building web applications in Django or a comparable framework
- Interest in learning other technologies in the stack (Python, TypeScript, Solidity, React, Google Cloud, Postgres, Ethereum)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with RWAs/real estate
- Experience with a variety of token standards
- Experience representing securities with compliance constraints on-chain (e.g. ERC-3643)
- Experience building on DeFi protocols like Morpho and Uniswap
Responsibilities
- Primary owner for Groma's onchain tech stack

- Connecting smart contracts to backend and frontend interfaces
- Operating across the entirety of our technology stack, including backend and frontend development, blockchain infrastructure, and potentially spreadsheet analysis
- Working directly with stakeholders throughout the business to understand their needs and build pragmatic solutions
- Balancing quality and delivery speed to move quickly in a startup environment
