Staff Pricing Data Scientist
About The Position
Join MoonPay’s Partnerships team as a Staff Pricing Data Scientist and help shape pricing for partners. As MoonPay’s product suite expands across on-ramp, off-ramp, swaps, crypto deposits, and virtual accounts, pricing is an important lever for partner revenue and win rates. The role sets and adjusts partner-specific pricing for individual products and multi-product bundles, and builds tools to make pricing faster, more consistent, and more transparent. The position develops pricing strategies and directly makes partner pricing changes within agreed guardrails, documenting the rationale for changes. It reviews partner-level volume, conversion, and cost data to identify revenue opportunities and pricing risks. It also builds AI-powered tools for the Partnerships team, including pricing calculators, deal-sizing models, transparency dashboards, and experimentation frameworks. The role collaborates with Finance, Partnerships, Product, Compliance, and Legal to ensure pricing is competitive, commercially sound, and aligned with contract terms and cost structure. It reduces ad-hoc escalations by creating clear frameworks and self-serve guidance, while identifying product changes suggested by pricing data.
Requirements
- Deep experience in pricing, monetization, or commercial analytics, ideally at a payments, fintech, marketplace, or B2B platform business.
- Strong SQL and Python skills, or similar, and comfort working with large transactional datasets.
- Experience designing pricing structures such as tiering, bundling, volume discounts, and take-rate models.
- Commercial mindset that connects unit economics and competitive context to clear recommendations.
- AI fluency, including comfort building internal tools with AI assistance and iterating quickly.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders, act autonomously, and explain complex pricing logic to non-technical teammates and partners.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute pricing strategies for individual products and multi-product bundles, including tier structures, concessions, and waivers.
- Make partner pricing changes within agreed guardrails and document the rationale for each change.
- Review existing pricing against partner-level volume, conversion, and cost data to identify revenue opportunities and pricing risks.
- Build AI-powered tools for the Partnerships team, such as pricing calculators, deal-sizing models, transparency dashboards, and experimentation frameworks.
- Partner with Finance, Partnerships, Product, Compliance, and Legal to ensure pricing is competitive, commercially sound, and consistent with contract terms and cost structure.
- Build clear frameworks and self-serve guidance to reduce ad-hoc pricing escalations and help the Partnerships team make pricing decisions confidently.
- Flag product changes indicated by pricing data.
