Thomson Reuters is hiring a Staff Platform Engineer for the CoCounsel for Tax and Accounting team, which evolved from the acquisition of Materia. The role combines startup-style innovation with enterprise practices to build cloud-native platforms and AI-native products for tax, accounting, and audit professionals. The role focuses on launching and supporting backend services for generative AI agents and orchestration systems, while building robust developer experiences in collaboration with AI/ML engineers, frontend developers, product managers, and SREs. It includes creating reusable development workflows, improving delivery performance, operating production infrastructure across cloud and AI platforms, and establishing processes and documentation for a team of more than 150 product managers, researchers, and engineers. The position is hybrid for office-based roles. Eligible office locations include New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Irvine, McLean, and Washington, DC. The position may be eligible for an annual bonus. The base compensation range is $158,000–$293,000 for the listed high-cost locations and $137,100–$254,700 for other eligible US locations.
