About The Position

Seeking PRN Staff Pharmacist for our MUSC/Florence, SC location! The role involves coordinating high-quality, comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, complying with all relevant standards. This includes drug distribution functions (order entry, prospective review, verification, IV admixture), clinical/cognitive activities to optimize therapeutic outcomes, educational activities for colleagues and healthcare professionals, and supervisory functions for technicians to ensure safe and efficient pharmaceutical care.

Requirements

• Entry-level pharmacy degree (e.g., B.Sc, Pharm.D) from an accredited college of pharmacy
• Pharmacist licensure in SC or eligibility for licensure via examination or reciprocity

Nice To Haves

• One (1) or more years of experience in a hospital or health system

Responsibilities

• Involvement with multiple drug distribution functions (inclusive of computerized order entry and/or prospective review and verification of physicians’ orders, IV admixture preparation, etc.)
• Defined clinical/cognitive activities to optimize therapeutic outcomes under the aegis of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee directives (which include active communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff about the need to clarify and/or change an order along with documentation of intervention outcomes)
• Educational activities with pharmacist colleagues and other health care professionals (e.g., physicians, nurses, etc.) to maintain and advance clinical competency vis-à-vis drug therapy
• Supervisory functions which provide professional oversight and direction of technicians’ drug preparation and distribution activities to assure safe and expedient provision of pharmaceutical care to SRMC patients and staff.
