About The Position

Seeking a part-time Staff Pharmacist for the MUSC/Florence, SC location. This role involves coordinating high-quality, comprehensive pharmaceutical care, including drug distribution, clinical activities, educational initiatives, and supervisory functions for technicians. The schedule is primarily days but may include shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Entry-level pharmacy degree (e.g., B.Sc, Pharm.D) from an accredited college of pharmacy
• Pharmacist licensure in SC or eligibility for licensure via examination or reciprocity

Nice To Haves

• One (1) or more years of experience in a hospital or health system

Responsibilities

• Involvement with multiple drug distribution functions, including computerized order entry and/or prospective review and verification of physicians’ orders, IV admixture preparation, etc.
• Defined clinical/cognitive activities to optimize therapeutic outcomes under the aegis of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee directives, which include active communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff about the need to clarify and/or change an order along with documentation of intervention outcomes.
• Educational activities with pharmacist colleagues and other health care professionals to maintain and advance clinical competency vis-à-vis drug therapy.
• Supervisory functions which provide professional oversight and direction of technicians’ drug preparation and distribution activities to assure safe and expedient provision of pharmaceutical care.
